The IAG Research Centre is located at Newington, 14km west of the centre of Sydney. The Research Centre was opened by NSW Minister for Roads, the Hon. Eric Roozenaal on 3 March, 2006. | Robert McDonald - Senior Manager, Research Centre Robert McDonald is the Senior Manager of the IAG Research Centre. He is an internationally recognised expert in automotive safety, security and repairability. Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has thirty years experience in automotive design, engineering and crash testing. Robert is Chairman of RCAR, the international association of insurance research centres, a member of the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council, a committee member of ANCAP and a member of the N.S.W Department of Fair Trading Motor Trade Advisory Council. |
| Anthony Boddy - Business Systems Manager Anthony Boddy is the Business Systems Manager at the IAG Research Centre. He has held various technical specialist roles over the past three decades and has been engaged in three key areas of the automotive industry: replacement parts distribution, collision repair management and motor insurance risk analysis. Anthony is responsible for parts pricing research and motorcycle repair cost research. |
| Adam Macbeth - Technical Manager Adam Macbeth is the Technical Manager at the IAG Research Centre. He is responsible for overseeing the physical research carried out by the IAG Research Centre, including crash testing, theft evaluations, collision repair evaluations and other vehicle related research. Adam also maintains IAG’s relationships with the car companies; working with them to improve vehicle design for insurance purposes. Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. |
| James Thomson - Project EngineerJames Thomson is the Project Engineer at the IAG Research Centre. He is responsible for designing the apparatus and test procedures used for physical research. James builds, maintains and modifies the unique equipment utilised for bumper compatibility testing, hail impact testing and motorcycle damageability testing. James holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. |
