Insurance Australia Group Limited (IAG) is an international general insurance group, with operations in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Asia. IAG’s businesses underwrite around $7.8 billion of premium per annum and employ around 13,500 people.

IAG operates some of Australia's leading general insurance brands including NRMA Insurance, CGU, SGIO, SGIC and Swann Insurance. IAG also has an insurance joint venture with the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV). IAG's Australian businesses insure more than five million vehicles, two million homes, 250,000 businesses and 75,000 farms – and provide workers' compensation services to more than 200,000 employers.

Insurance is a major cost of motor vehicle ownership. Around one million vehicles are involved in collisions in Australia each year and these accidents result in a considerable cost to the community in terms of personal injuries and property damage.
